The Department of Epidemiology within the Robert Stempel College
of Public Health and Social Work (RSCPHSW) at Florida
International University invites applications for one tenure-track
or tenured (upon employment) position.
The RSCPHSW is fully accredited by the Council on Education for
Public Health (CEPH). Our mission is to enhance the public’s
health by conducting innovative research, training future leaders
and health professionals from diverse backgrounds, translating
research into policy and practice, and serving our local
communities as well as communities around the world. In addition
to the Department of Epidemiology, the College also includes
departments of Health Promotion and Disease Prevention,
Biostatistics, Health Policy and Management, Environmental and
Occupational Health, Dietetics and Nutrition and the School of

QUALIFICATIONS
Required qualifications include: Earned PhD/DrPH in Epidemiology
or closely related discipline at time of application. Candidates
with a strong track record of, or potential for, external research
funding and scholarship are especially encouraged to apply. Any
area of research interest will be considered, but candidates with
a focus on chronic and non-communicable diseases and their risk
factors are particularly welcome. Successful candidates will
demonstrate potential for effective teaching, scholarly activity,
and ability to communicate effectively with ethnically and
culturally diverse populations.
RESPONSIBILITY
Responsibilities will include research, teaching graduate courses,
student advisement, serving on master’s thesis and doctoral
dissertation committees, and serving the university, professional,
and neighboring communities.
