Baylor
University seeks an innovative Associate/Full
Professor to serve as the Department Chair for the
Public Health Department. The anticipated start date
for this position is August 1, 2025. This is a full-time
position.
The
Department of Public Health seeks an innovative Chair to
lead our growing department in meeting its mission of
advancing public health through research, promoting
health equity, supporting the well-being of vulnerable
and underserved populations in every community, and
training the next generation of public health
researchers and practitioners.

♦ A doctorate (e.g., Ph.D.,
Sc.D.) in public health or a closely related field is
required.
♦ Qualified candidates
should have academic credentials commensurate with an
appointment at the rank of associate or full professor
with tenure.
♦ An active public health
research agenda is expected with current or previous
extramural funding.
Preference will be given to candidates with previous
academic leadership and mentoring experience who express
a creative and practical solution-oriented mindset.
Candidates should demonstrate an ability to advocate for
the public health profession as it applies to research,
practice, teaching, and service. Ideal candidates will
be strongly dedicated to promoting research development,
collaborating effectively with department and
college-level leadership teams, and embodying a
leadership approach that aligns with the University's
strategic goals and Christian values.
