NeighborhoodHELP™ Program Evaluator
The Florida International University (FIU)
Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine seeks applicants for an
exciting non-tenure faculty position at the Assistant
Professor level with duties as the NeighborhoodHelp™ Program
Evaluator within the Department of Humanities, Health and
Society. The faculty will be a member of a team developing
groundbreaking, innovative approaches to medical education and
clinical activities focused on the needs of South Florida's
culturally diverse, medically underserved communities. This
position will be responsible for implementing protocols to
assess the effectiveness and measure the performance of a wide
range of health intervention efforts, social and clinical
services. The qualified applicant will need to develop
recommendations on measures to enhance program quality and
have a deep understanding of the multifaceted health and
social issues involved with NeighborhoodHelp™ to create
sustainable strategies of measurement and quality improvement.
In addition, this position will have educational
responsibilities that include assisting in developing and
teaching courses on the social determinants of health, health
education and community-based research, ethical
considerations, and innovation as a social change tool and
society policy.
We are looking for individuals who have the knowledge of the
social determinants of health and the social, economic, and
structural contributions to health disparities. Additionally,
the individual must demonstrate an ability to work well in
teams as well as a track record of innovating to create
solutions.
Minimum qualifications include a terminal degree as a M.D. or
Ph.D., or Master's degree in related field and five years of
experience. Competitive candidates will have experience
evaluating community based programs, placed based initiatives
or community-campus partnership models.
Preferred experience includes previous planning and program
implantation and evaluation strategies, experience working
with quantitative (e.g., SPSS, SAS) and/or qualitative (e.g.,
NVivo) data analysis software programs, and strong written and
verbal communication skills. Analysis of community level
impact (i.e., Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Network
Analysis), Cost-Benefit Analysis is a plus.
