Position Summary:
The Senior Methodologist will be responsible for the
collection and analysis of scientific data relevant to the
practice of anesthesiology. Job responsibilities will include
systematic review and meta-analysis of existing scientific
literature, survey development, distribution and analysis, and
other activities pertinent to the development, refinement and
final production of ASA parameters.
Position Responsibilities:
·
Systematic literature review and meta-analyses to support
development of ASA standards, guidelines, and advisories.
·
Survey development and analysis to provide supportive
information for development of ASA standards, guidelines, and
advisories.
·
Collaboration with the Committee on Standards and Practice
Parameters to determine ASA needs for future standards,
guidelines, and other practice parameters.
·
Actively collaborate with members of Practice Parameter Task
Forces to conceptualize and develop ASA standards, guidelines
and other practice parameters.
·
Reporting evidentiary information and collaborating with task
forces to prepare drafts of practice parameters.
· Review
and prepare reports on documents submitted to the Committee on
Standards and Practice Parameters by non-ASA organizations for
possible ASA endorsement.
Position Qualifications:
·
Ph.D. in Biostatistics, Statistics, Epidemiology, Public
Health, or other related discipline required.
·
Minimum 5 years of experience conducting or managing research
projects, statistical analysis of scientific data, or
scientific literature evaluation.
·
Minimum 5 years of experience in healthcare research.
·
Experienced scientific writer, with a track record of
successful publication.
·
Experienced user of MS Office products, including Word, Excel,
Access, and PowerPoint.
·
Familiarity with healthcare quality management, statistical
terminology, and research methodology.
·
Knowledge of the perioperative environment and scientific and
scientific and clinical issues confronting anesthesiologists
preferred.
·
“Scientific thinking” from hypothesis generation to
development of research protocols to collection of data to
analysis to publication.
·
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and a rapidly
evolving healthcare policy climate.
·
Interaction style that exhibits high energy, strategic
thinking, collaboration, direct communication, and results
orientation.
·
Ability to think innovatively and apply thoughts and
fundamental concepts.
·
Ability to adapt to changing communication technologies such
