The Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania is actively recruiting senior faculty at the Associate and Professor levels for our Program in Cancer Risk and Control. We are seeking independent investigators (MD, PhD, or MD, PhD) with expertise in identifying multi-level factors that increase cancer risk (including genetic, epigenetic, and environmental factors) and disparities along the entire cancer continuum; developing interventions to alter cancer risk and impact outcomes for patients, populations, and communities; and translating effective methods for risk assessment and intervention into practice. Investigators dedicated to improving the quality of cancer care for diverse populations through research are encouraged to apply. Independent investigators (MD, PhD, ScD) with expertise in molecular/genetic cancer epidemiology, especially those with an established track record of successful NIH grant funding are encouraged to apply. Leadership opportunities are available for exceptional candidates.

The Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center is an NCI-designated consortium cancer center that includes researchers from Thomas Jefferson University, Drexel University, and Lankenau Institute for Medical Research. We promote interactions among basic, clinical, and population scientists in the conduct of research in basic, clinical and cancer prevention and control science. Multi-disciplinary and multi-institutional team science are strongly encouraged and supported. Recruited faculty will be supported by generous start-up funds, a competitive salary, and modern facilities, along with administrative and infrastructure services. Successful candidates will also have opportunities to teach and mentor medical students, postdoctoral fellows, and population health graduate students.

Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center of Thomas Jefferson University is located in the heart of Philadelphia. Faculty and staff experience the beauty of historic Center City and an extensive public park system, and have an abundance of opportunities for professional and social interactions in a vibrant urban cultural scene. Many members of our academic community take advantage of an efficient mass transit system that makes commuting easy. Thomas Jefferson University has a highly competitive salary and benefits package. Jefferson values diversity and encourages applications from women, members of minority groups, LGBTQ individuals, disabled individuals, and veterans.
