Job Duties:
As a Social Scientist, expect to apply knowledge of behavioral and social science principles and theories to analyze public health issues. Prepare to participate in the design and development of research protocols and interpret data using quantitative and qualitative methods. Engage in the design and development of research on the communication of tobacco product information, including tobacco product labeling, advertising, marketing, health warnings, and education campaigns. Understanding how communication affects consumer comprehension, judgment, knowledge, and use of tobacco products.

As an Epidemiologist, expect to evaluate epidemiological study proposals, protocols, analyses, and reports as part of product application reviews. Prepare to provide recommendations based on knowledge of epidemiologic principles and best practices, synthesize epidemiological evidence to inform policy decisions, conduct epidemiological research to inform tobacco product regulation, and analyze data from epidemiologic studies to investigate tobacco use behavior, its determinants, and health impacts.

Job Requirements:

BASIC QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

A degree in health, allied, behavioral or social science appropriate to the work of the position or a related discipline is required. A combination of education (coursework equivalent to a major) and experience may be considered.
