A faculty position is
available in the Department of Cancer Epidemiology at Moffitt
Cancer Center, a National Cancer Institute-designated
Comprehensive Cancer Center located on the campus of the
University of South Florida, Tampa, FL. We are seeking a
faculty member at the Assistant/Associate Member level with a
record of peer-reviewed extramural funding. Preference will be
given to investigators with an interest in breast or
hematological malignancies, especially individuals with
expertise in clinical epidemiology, immunology, and/or
metabolism. Strong applicants with research portfolios in
other cancer types and systems also are encouraged to apply.
The Department currently
has 19 faculty members engaged in various high-impact
scholarly activities spanning numerous cancer epidemiologic
research arenas including chemoprevention, nutrition,
immunology, infection oncology, radiomics, screening and early
detection, genetics/genomics and personalized medicine
covering a range of tumor types. Local resources for
conducting research in cancer epidemiology include the wealth
of clinical and scientific expertise across a spectrum of
oncology-related disciplines, a large health and research data
warehouse of clinical and outcome information on over 400,000
patients, opportunities to integrate into a multi-state
affiliate network, and excellent resources in biostatistics
and biomedical informatics.
Successful candidates
must have PhD or MD and relevant research training and
experience. We seek academic researchers who can contribute
immediately, as evidenced by a history of peer-reviewed
funding and publications. Academic rank beyond Assistant
Member will be commensurate with experience and
qualifications. Appointment at the Associate rank requires a
minimum of five years’ experience at the Assistant level. This
position is tenure-earning. Moffitt is affiliated with
University of South Florida and a University appointment is
