and a research focus on metabolism and aging. The right
candidate will also be considered for a position as an
Institute Director. Successful candidates will hold a doctoral

UTHSC and its affiliate organizations. The Division is home to
the CANDLE Study (Conditions Affecting Neurocognitive
Development and Learning in Early Childhood), a longitudinal
birth cohort study of 1500 mother-child dyads based in Shelby
County, TN (www.candlestudy.com).
CANDLE was chosen to participate in the NIH?s recently funded
Environmental influences on Child Health Outcomes (ECHO)
Program. Ongoing research through West Cancer Center, multiple
cardiovascular and diabetes clinical trials, and geriatric
population-based studies also provide a rich environment for
aging and metabolism studies. To facilitate research on our
local population, the UTHSC Center for Biomedical Informatics
maintains a research Enterprise Data Warehouse (rEDW) in
collaboration with our partner health systems, Methodist and
Le Bonheur Healthcare. The rEDW serves as a comprehensive and
integrated repository of clinical and administrative data to
facilitate the investigation and discovery in areas of quality
of care, clinical outcomes, and operations improvement.
Investigators are additionally supported through cores in
genomics, bioinformatics, biostatistics, and community
outreach.
Applicants
should have a demonstrated commitment to diversity and equal
