The Department of Epidemiology at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health invites applications from candidates for a tenure-track faculty position as assistant/associate professor of epidemiology.

The Department of Epidemiology at the Harvard Chan School is committed to enriching the academic experience of our talented students, with the critical thinking and problem-solving skills they need to address current and future challenges in public health and clinical medicine.

The successful candidate will contribute to expanding the department’s role as a center for epidemiologic research and education. Areas of focus may include epidemiologic methods, epidemiology of chronic diseases, epidemiology of infectious diseases, and clinical epidemiology. The successful candidate will facilitate departmental engagement within the Harvard Chan School, Harvard Medical School, and Harvard teaching hospitals. He/she will be expected to conduct empirical research in epidemiology and to participate actively in teaching and in the direction of training programs.

Candidates should hold a Ph.D., M.D., or S.D., as well as graduate-level training in epidemiology or a closely related field, or have substantial experience with the development or application of epidemiologic methods. For the purposes of this position, we take a broad view of closely related fields as including, but not limited to, such areas as network science, computational biology or data science applied to the study of human health outcomes; ecology and evolution of infectious diseases; public policy; and health economics. Publication record can be in epidemiology or a closely related field.
