POSTDOCTORAL
RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP
IN SEXUAL ORIENTATION
AND REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH DISPARITIES RESEARCH
Job Announcement
We are seeking a qualified and highly
motivated individual who would like to complete a postdoctoral
research fellowship. The research focus will be on the study
of sexual orientation-related reproductive health disparities
primarily using data from the Harvard longitudinal cohort
studies (i.e., Nurses’ Health Study, Growing Up Today Study).
Secondary research foci can include contraceptives and sexual
orientation-related cancer disparities. The fellow will be
responsible for research activities such as developing
analysis proposals, conducting data analysis, and writing
manuscripts. In addition, the fellow will participate in grant
writing and the development of new projects and may carry out
related analyses using data from other studies. It is expected
that the fellow will apply for additional funding during the
fellowship. The length of the fellowship will last a minimum
of one year and, depending on funding, may be renewed
thereafter.
The fellow will be based in the Division of
Adolescent/Young Adult Medicine at Boston Children’s Hospital
with a Harvard Medical School appointment. The fellow will
join a stimulating, interdisciplinary research environment
with the opportunity to attend seminars, colloquia, and other
regularly scheduled research activities at Boston Children’s
Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Harvard T.H. Chan School of
Public Health, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and partner
institutions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
♦ PhD, ScD, DrPH, or an equivalent
doctoral degree in epidemiology, biostatistics, public health,
social and behavioral sciences (e.g., sociology, psychology),
or related fields
♦ Experience conducting statistical
analyses with large databases using SAS
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
♦
Knowledge of
sexual-orientation health disparities and reproductive health
♦ Track record of, or strong
potential for, independent funding
SALARY: $50,000/year plus fringe benefits
START DATE: Flexible, can be as early as Fall 2017 or
as late as Fall 2018
