The
Center for HIV/AIDS Educational Studies and Training (CHEST)
of Hunter College of the City University of New York (CUNY),
is hiring for a full-time Research Post-Doctoral
Position in Epidemiology and Biostatistics. Commitments
are flexible and typically last 1-2 years. CHEST (www.chestnyc.org)
is an internationally recognized multidisciplinary research
center which blends academic and community-based work focused
on sexual health, HIV/AIDS, LGBT issues, and substance use. As
part of the City University of New York (CUNY) system, there
are also opportunities for adjunct teaching. Positions have
the opportunity to begin immediately, or in the next year.

Description:
We are hiring for a post-doctoral fellow in
Epidemiology and Biostatistics. The position will involve
assisting with oversight and management of existing grant
projects, supervision of staff, data analyses and manuscript
writing, and grant writing. The fellow will be responsible for
conducting complex multivariate analyses, and for supervision
of more junior staff in statistical analysis and study
design. Opportunities exist for the development of
independent research projects/areas, as well as integration
into existing funded projects. We are looking for a motivated
junior researcher to become an integral part of our
collaborative team.
Requirements:
We are looking for individuals with a strong background in
epidemiology or biostatistics, with a particular emphasis on
methods used in research with large nationwide cohorts and
population-based designs (e.g., weighting, complex sampling).
A strong interest in technology-intensive designs is also
strongly desired. PhD or ABD in Epidemiology or Biostatistics;
significant research experience (as evidenced by previous
project management and peer reviewed publications); and
significant proficiency with SPSS/SAS and statistical
analyses.
