The University of Nevada, Reno, School of Community Health Sciences is seeking a candidate for a nine-month, state-funded, tenure-track position in Epidemiology at the rank of Assistant Professor. The School of Community Health Sciences has over 1,700 declared majors in the undergraduate program with another 70 graduate students in the Master of Public Health program and the recently launched PhD program. The successful applicant is expected to engage in both independent and collaborative research projects, teach successfully in the graduate and undergraduate programs, collaborate with other health researchers in the university system, and engage in the development of the new School of Public Health.

The University of Nevada, Reno is the State of Nevada’s historic land-grant institution, and is home to approximately 21,000 students, including nearly 3,000 graduate students. The University is currently classified as a Carnegie “Higher Research Activity” institution and offers an array of degree programs at all levels. Reno hosts an active arts community with the University, the Nevada Museum of Art, and a wide range of independent arts institutions. Nestled in the valley of the Truckee River on the eastern slope of the Sierra Nevada, Reno offers an excellent quality of life. Lake Tahoe is less than an hour away with close proximity to the Black Rock Desert, Yosemite and Lassen National Parks, Napa and Sonoma, Sacramento, and the Bay Area.
