The Department of Epidemiology, School of Public Health at
The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) invites
applications for a full-time faculty position, tenure-earning
or non-tenure earning, at the Assistant Professor rank.
Applicants must hold a PhD, MD, or equivalent doctoral degree,
with graduate training in epidemiology. Clinical training and
prior teaching experience are preferred. Demonstrated
effective teaching skills and analytic skills will be valued.
Initial responsibilities will include teaching epidemiology
and public health at the undergraduate and graduate levels (up
to 2 classes per semester), serving on department and
university committees, collaborating on medical record reviews
and clinical event adjudication for large epidemiologic
studies, and engaging in scholarly activity. The successful
candidate will join a diverse group of faculty with a breadth
of research expertise and will be mentored to develop an
increasingly independent research portfolio.
