The University of Maryland School of Medicine Institute of Human Virology Division invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor, non-tenure track position specializing in mathematical models for infectious disease to show transmission patterns, likely outcome of an epidemic.   Expertise in mathematical and computational modeling and phylogenetic and phylodynamic analyses of large HIV sequence databases is desired.   

The successful candidate is published and demonstrates success in engaging multidisciplinary strategies to address meritorious research questions through the application of epidemiological modeling.  The Candidate will engage in collaborative research that draws upon the expertise of scientists from the Institute of Human Virology, Greenebaum Cancer Center, Institute for Genome Sciences, affiliated international sites, and other academic and strategic partners. The successful candidate also will have an academic appointment in the Division of Biostatistics and Bioinformation, Department of Epidemiology and Public Health. 

Basic Qualifications:

Applicant must have a PhD degree, a documented track record of publications, and demonstrated involvement in collaborative external research.
