The BC Cancer Agency (BCCA)

those living with cancer. BC Cancer Agency provides a
comprehensive cancer control program for the people of British
Columbia in partnership with regional health authorities to
deliver a range of cancer services, which include prevention,
screening and early detection, diagnosis and treatment,
research, education, supportive care, rehabilitation and
palliative care. It operates six regional cancer centres in
Surrey, Kelowna, Vancouver, Victoria, Abbotsford and Prince

The BC Cancer
Agency is seeking a Faculty Scientist with outstanding
credentials and an excellent track record of research
productivity to join our team of world-class scientists within
Cancer Control Research (CCR). CCR has a number of strong core
research programs directed toward the reduction of incidence
and mortality from cancer, sustainability of cancer care, and
alleviating the burden of suffering from cancer. Applicants
at the Scientist or Senior Scientist (equivalent to a
university Assistant or Associate Professor) level are invited
to apply.
The
successful candidate will be expected to initiate and sustain
a successful nationally recognized research program, and
provide strategic direction and leadership to the Cancer
Prevention Program at the BC Cancer Agency. Recognition of the
core principles of collegiality, teamwork, accountability and
integrity is expected. This appointment is expected to be
accompanied by a parallel appointment at a BC university as an
Assistant or Associate Professor.
The ideal
candidate will have a doctoral degree in a relevant discipline
with three to six (3-6) years of post-doctoral research
training or related experience. Preference will be given to
researchers who hold or have the potential to hold competitive
career research salary awards.
Key
attributes of the successful applicant will include evidence
of significant contributions to multiple high impact
publications, demonstrated ability to obtain peer-reviewed
funding from national and international agencies as a
principle investigator and as a co-investigator, and strong
references.
