The Division of Environmental Health in the Department of Preventive Medicine at the University of Southern California is seeking post-doctoral fellow/research associate with expertise in environmental health including environmental epidemiology and exposure sciences.

The Department of Preventive Medicine houses one of the leading research groups in environmental health, epidemiology, exposure sciences and environmental biostatistics, with expertise in respiratory health, cancer, neurosciences, metabolic and cardiovascular diseases, as well as environmental and integrative genomics.

We seek a motivated individual with doctorate-level academic training in the environmental health sciences (EHS) with demonstrated competence in research to work with Dr. Frank Gilliland and colleagues in the ongoing Children’s Health Study and to participate in  the research programs of the Southern California Environmental Health Sciences Center (SCEHSC), Environmental Health Disparities Center, the USC ECHO cohorts and the PRISMS Program, all directed by Dr. Gilliland and housed in the Environmental Health Division of the Department of Preventive Medicine.  A strong background in EHS is required for this cross-cutting position. Past experience in respiratory/pulmonary epidemiology is a plus.

The dynamic and diverse group of investigators in the Southern California Environmental Health Sciences Center (SCEHSC) offers opportunities for a wide range of research collaborations.  The NIEHS-funded SCEHSC features an innovative Career Development Program for early investigators to strengthen their skills and knowledge base needed for career advancement (e.g., developing career directions and priorities, grant writing, making effective presentations, preparing manuscripts, and developing multidisciplinary research teams). The program has established a track record of success in helping post-doctoral and junior investigators to obtain faculty positions and a first NIH award. U.S. citizenship or permanent residency is NOT required.

Interested candidates should apply online to this USC job announce and email 3 documents including 1) a curriculum vitae, 2) a brief summary of research interests and 3) names and contact information for three professional references to:
