The Department of Epidemiology at the Harvard T.H. Chan
School of Public Health SPH invites applications from
candidates for a tenure-track faculty position as
assistant/associate professor of radiation epidemiology. The

Little Center for Radiation Sciences (JBLC). The successful
candidate’s academic rank will be determined in accordance
with their experience and productivity.
The successful candidate will contribute to expanding the
John B. Little Center for Radiation Sciences, through research
and training. Areas of research interest include epidemiologic
approaches to study the effects of radiation on human health
as well as exposure to imaging and radiation technology on
disease risk. These approaches may include population studies
using biomarkers derived from metabolic response to radiation,
oxidative stress and inflammatory signaling pathways in the
cellular response to radiation, genetic and epigenetic
mechanisms regulating radiation response, genetic
susceptibility to radiation-induced disease in humans, quality
of life associated with radiation therapy, as well as
environmental exposure to radiation. The successful candidate
will facilitate departmental engagement in these areas with
similar efforts within the Harvard Chan School, Harvard
Medical School, and Harvard teaching hospitals. They will be
expected to conduct empirical research in radiation sciences
and to participate actively in teaching and in the direction
of training programs in this area.
Candidates should hold a PhD, SD and/or MD as well as
graduate-level training in epidemiology or substantial
experience with the application or development of
epidemiologic methods in radiation sciences. The ideal
